About This Plant

Hosta 'Great Expectations' is a giant variegated plantain lily with blue-green margins surrounding a center that transitions from chartreuse in spring to creamy yellow and finally soft white in brighter shade. It blooms mid to late summer with lightly fragrant white flowers on tall stalks, attracting hummingbirds and pollinators. The plant develops into a large, mounded clump and prefers shade to part shade with moderate water. This variety is prized for its dramatic, tropical-looking foliage and year-to-year improvement in foliage color.
